My First Idea

My favourite of my 3 ideas was going to be cheesy pop song in which there would be a boy who was seen as one of the schools most popular, good-looking guys who would fall in love with a stereotypically unattractive girl who would be more interested in her studies rather than her social life, therefore being seen as a 'geek' by the other students. Due to the fact that he had a large reputation to live up to, he would have to hide this love in front of his friends at school. This would make the girl upset and feel unwanted, as if the love was unrequited.

The boy would see the effects of what he had done and start to change his ways because he feels like his feelings for her were more important than his reputation and started to change his ways. This was too late though and his previous actions had changed her views towards him and therefore did no longer feel the same way. This would upset the boy massively and he would look stupid in front of all his friends.

I think this could be set in America as it would be easier to portray the stereotypes clearer as you could make the boy potentially an American football jock, this would mean showing his sensitive side would massively advert the stereotype of them. I dont have an exact song to go with this idea but I was thinking along the lines of Taylor Swift or similar artists but it would be sung by the girl about the poor treatment of the boy and how he got what he deserved.

The things that have influenced me on this idea include the music video and lyrics for Teenage Dirtbag- Wheatus but this is slightly different because it is the other way round and the girl is seen as the more socially acceptable and the boy is seen as a loser. Another influence was the film Grease, this is a very similar story to the love story between Danny and Sandy. I have tried to incorporate these 2 ideas and some of my own into one, to make this.
